Senior Automotive Test Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Senior Automotive Test Engineer to join their dedicated quality assurance team in Sheffield . You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test plans to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of automotive components and systems. This hands-on role involves working with a variety of testing equipment and methodologies to identify defects and validate that products meet stringent industry standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed test plans, procedures, and test cases for automotive components and systems.
• Execute tests manually and using automated testing frameworks, ensuring accurate data collection.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and report issues clearly and concisely to engineering teams.
• Operate and maintain various testing equipment, including environmental chambers, vibration tables, and electrical test rigs.
• Collaborate with design and development engineers to understand product requirements and resolve issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies within the automotive quality function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 4+ years of experience in testing automotive components or systems.
• Strong understanding of automotive product development cycles and quality standards.
• Proficiency in using test automation tools and scripting languages is a plus.
• Experience with data analysis and report generation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hands-on test laboratory environment.
