Senior Aviation Safety Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Aviation Safety Manager to lead and enhance their safety management systems in a remote capacity. This pivotal role involves developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety policies and procedures across the organization to ensure the highest levels of aviation safety and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for risk assessment, incident investigation, and promoting a proactive safety culture throughout all operational areas. This is a key leadership position for a dedicated safety professional who can influence and drive continuous improvement in safety performance, working autonomously and effectively from a remote location.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Safety Management System (SMS) in line with international aviation standards (e.g., ICAO, EASA).
• Conduct thorough risk assessments, identify potential hazards, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize aviation risks.
• Lead and manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Promote a positive safety culture through training, communication, and engagement with all levels of the organization.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international aviation safety regulations .
• Monitor safety performance indicators and prepare regular reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in aviation safety management, preferably in airline operations or regulatory oversight.
• Deep understanding of Safety Management Systems (SMS) principles and implementation.
• Proven experience in risk management, hazard identification, and incident investigation techniques.
• Strong knowledge of aviation regulations and standards relevant to safety.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders remotely.
• Relevant professional certifications in aviation safety.
