About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Aviation Safety Manager to oversee and enhance safety protocols at their operations hub in Manchester, Greater Manchester, UK . This critical role involves developing, implementing, and managing the organisation's safety management system (SMS) to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a strong safety culture. You will lead investigations into safety incidents, identify risks, and implement preventative strategies to maintain the highest levels of safety across all aviation activities. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Safety Management System (SMS).
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with aviation regulations.
- Lead and manage investigations into aviation safety incidents and accidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs to all levels of staff.
- Monitor safety performance indicators and produce regular safety reports for senior management.
- Foster a positive safety culture throughout the organisation through proactive engagement and communication.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in aviation safety management, with a strong understanding of EASA/UK CAA regulations.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective Safety Management Systems.
- Experience in conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in aviation safety, management, or a related field.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing office-based and remote responsibilities.
