About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Avionics Systems Engineer to join their pioneering, remote-first engineering team. This role is essential for driving the design, development, and integration of complex avionics systems for advanced aircraft platforms. You will be instrumental in defining system requirements, architecting solutions, and ensuring the seamless operation of critical electronic systems that power modern aviation. Working entirely from home, you will collaborate with a global network of experts, contributing to projects that push the boundaries of aerospace technology and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and integration of avionic systems, including navigation, communication, flight control, and display systems.
- Define and manage system requirements, architecture, and interfaces for complex avionics platforms.
- Develop and execute verification and validation plans to ensure system performance, reliability, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and program managers, in a remote setting .
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to avionics system performance and integration.
- Contribute to the selection and evaluation of COTS and custom hardware/software components for avionics applications .
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in avionics systems engineering , with a proven track record in system design and integration.
- Strong understanding of avionics architectures, communication protocols (e.g., ARINC 429, AFDX), and relevant industry standards.
- Experience with systems engineering tools and methodologies (e.g., SysML, DOORS).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, vital for effective collaboration in a fully remote team.
- Familiarity with flight test and certification processes in the aerospace industry.
