About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Developer to join their established and fully remote engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, high-performance backend systems and APIs that power innovative applications. You will have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, optimize existing systems, and mentor junior developers. Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using modern languages and frameworks.
Develop and manage robust APIs (RESTful, GraphQL) that serve our client's diverse applications.
Optimize backend services for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
Work with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) to design efficient data models and queries.
Collaborate with frontend developers and product managers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing backend systems, ensuring stability and performance.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in backend software development.
Strong expertise in at least one major backend language (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js, Go).
Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases and their associated query languages.
Solid understanding of microservices architecture, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker) is highly desirable.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a remote, asynchronous communication environment.
