Senior Biochemist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Biochemist to join their dynamic research and development team in Norwich . This role involves investigating biochemical pathways, developing novel assays, and contributing to the discovery and optimization of new therapeutic agents. You will be responsible for designing and executing complex experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance research projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in biochemistry, enzymology, and protein chemistry, with a proven ability to drive research initiatives forward within a leading scientific organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, perform, and interpret biochemical experiments related to enzyme kinetics, protein-protein interactions, and cellular pathways.
• Develop and validate biochemical and cell-based assays for drug discovery and characterization.
• Purify and characterize proteins and enzymes using various biochemical and biophysical techniques.
• Troubleshoot experimental issues and propose innovative solutions.
• Communicate research findings through reports, presentations, and potential publications.

Requirements

• PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience.
• Extensive experience with biochemical assay development, enzyme kinetics, and protein purification.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques and protein analysis methods.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent scientific communication abilities.
