Senior Bioinformatician - Genomics Data Analysis

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician with extensive experience in genomics data analysis to join their innovative research group on a completely remote basis. This role is integral to interpreting complex next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, uncovering biological insights, and driving forward research objectives. You will work with large datasets, develop analytical pipelines, and collaborate with scientists across various disciplines. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret large-scale genomics datasets, including whole-genome, exome, and RNA-seq data.
• Develop, implement, and optimize bioinformatics pipelines and workflows for high-throughput sequencing data.
• Collaborate with biologists and other researchers to define analytical needs and interpret results.
• Utilize statistical methods and machine learning techniques for data analysis and pattern discovery.
• Contribute to the design of experiments and study protocols involving genomic analysis.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in bioinformatics, genomics, and relevant computational tools.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in bioinformatics, with a specialization in genomics data analysis .
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in bioinformatics, such as Python or R.
• Strong experience with NGS data analysis tools and platforms (e.g., BWA, GATK, STAR).
• Familiarity with cloud computing environments (AWS, GCP) and version control systems (Git).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a remote , collaborative setting.
