About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Bioinformatician to join their dynamic remote oncology research team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in analyzing complex genomic and transcriptomic datasets to uncover novel insights into cancer biology and identify potential therapeutic targets. You will leverage advanced computational techniques and collaborate closely with a team of leading oncologists and biologists to accelerate the development of next-generation cancer treatments. Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-depth analysis of large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets from oncology studies.
- Develop and implement robust bioinformatics pipelines for variant calling, gene expression analysis, and pathway analysis.
- Collaborate with bench scientists and clinical teams to design experiments and interpret data in the context of cancer research.
- Contribute to the development of predictive models for treatment response and patient stratification.
- Maintain and update bioinformatics databases and software tools, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and present findings at internal meetings and scientific conferences.
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genetics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in bioinformatics analysis, with a focus on cancer genomics or transcriptomics.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages (Python, R) and experience with bioinformatics tools (e.g., GATK, STAR, DESeq2).
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to thrive in a fully remote team environment.
