About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician to enhance their groundbreaking Genomics research team in Milton Keynes . This role is crucial for analyzing and interpreting large-scale genomic datasets generated from diverse research projects, including Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS). You will play a key role in uncovering biological insights, identifying genetic variations, and contributing to the development of novel diagnostic tools and therapeutic strategies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art genomic technologies and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of scientists.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and optimize pipelines for the analysis of NGS data , including WGS, WES, and RNA-Seq.
- Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of genomic data to identify disease-associated variants and pathways.
- Collaborate with biologists and clinicians to design genomic experiments and interpret results in a biological context.
- Develop and maintain databases and visualization tools for managing and exploring large genomic datasets.
- Contribute to the development of novel bioinformatics algorithms and computational methods for genomic research.
- Ensure the reproducibility and scalability of bioinformatics analyses performed in Milton Keynes .
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in analyzing large-scale genomic datasets.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, and experience with bioinformatics tools and libraries.
- In-depth knowledge of statistical methods relevant to genomic data analysis and machine learning techniques.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex computational results to diverse audiences in Milton Keynes .
