About the Role
Our client is searching for a highly skilled Senior Buyer with expertise in Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies for their operations in Southampton . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth running of facilities and operational equipment through effective procurement of MRO goods and services. You will be responsible for strategic sourcing, supplier management, and cost optimization for a diverse range of MRO items. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional to take ownership of critical indirect spend and contribute significantly to operational efficiency and cost control within a leading organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sourcing and procurement of all MRO items, including spare parts, consumables, and maintenance services.
- Develop and implement category strategies to optimize cost, quality, and availability of MRO supplies.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve best value and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Manage supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and identify opportunities for partnership and innovation.
- Collaborate with facilities and maintenance teams to understand their needs and ensure proactive supply chain support.
- Monitor market trends and identify potential risks or opportunities within the MRO supply base.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or Buyer, with specialized knowledge in MRO procurement.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance for MRO categories.
- Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics and inventory management for indirect materials.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
