Senior Buyer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Buyer to join their expanding procurement team, working remotely and supporting operations across the UK. This role is key to developing and implementing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing complex supplier relationships, and driving significant cost savings. You will take ownership of key procurement categories, ensuring that the company secures the best possible value for its expenditures. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for key procurement categories, optimizing cost, quality, and delivery.
• Lead negotiations with major suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service level agreements.
• Manage and develop relationships with a portfolio of critical suppliers, ensuring performance and identifying opportunities for collaboration.
• Conduct in-depth market analysis and benchmarking to identify new sourcing channels and mitigate supply chain risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives and demand forecasts.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, promoting best practices and efficiency.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a Senior Buyer role, with a proven track record in strategic sourcing and category management.
• Expertise in complex contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage large datasets.
• Demonstrated success in achieving substantial cost savings through effective procurement strategies.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; CIPS qualification is a plus.
