About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team based in London . This pivotal role will involve managing key supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services essential to the company's operations. You will play a crucial part in optimising the supply chain, driving cost savings, and upholding quality standards, contributing directly to the company's profitability and strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the sourcing and negotiation process for a diverse range of goods and services, securing competitive pricing and favourable contract terms.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers , conducting regular performance reviews and identifying areas for improvement.
- Analyse market trends, industry best practices, and supplier capabilities to identify opportunities for cost reduction and value enhancement.
- Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, from requisition to payment, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their needs and ensure the procurement strategy aligns with business objectives.
- Mentor junior members of the purchasing team, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development and ensure high team performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer, with a strong track record in strategic sourcing and negotiation.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, contract law, and supply chain management best practices.
- Experience using procurement software and ERP systems for purchasing, inventory management, and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build rapport at all levels.
- A relevant professional qualification, such as CIPS, is highly desirable.
