About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Senior Buyer to join their procurement team in Coventry . This role is critical for managing key supplier relationships and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of essential materials and services. You will play an active part in strategic sourcing, contract negotiations, and driving value across the supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the company's operational excellence and cost management efforts within the West Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities for assigned categories, including supplier identification, qualification, and selection.
• Conduct price negotiations to achieve optimal cost savings while ensuring quality and delivery commitments.
• Develop and manage long-term relationships with strategic suppliers.
• Monitor market conditions and commodity trends to anticipate potential impacts on supply and cost.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand their needs and ensure procurement solutions meet business objectives.

Requirements

• Significant experience in a Buyer or Senior Buyer role.
• Proven track record of successful negotiation and cost reduction initiatives.
• Strong understanding of procurement best practices and contract law.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
• Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite.
