About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Buyer to join their dynamic procurement team in Leicester . This pivotal role involves managing key supplier relationships, driving cost savings, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services critical to the business operations. You will be instrumental in shaping procurement strategies and contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of the organisation, working within a collaborative environment that values innovation and professional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies for assigned categories, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and value enhancement.
• Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers, ensuring alignment with company objectives and quality standards.
• Manage and nurture relationships with key suppliers, conducting regular performance reviews and fostering collaborative partnerships.
• Oversee the end-to-end purchasing process, from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
• Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities, and potential risks to inform procurement decisions and maintain supply chain resilience.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or Senior Buyer, with a strong understanding of procurement best practices.
• Demonstrated success in negotiating complex contracts and achieving significant cost savings.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities, essential for effective collaboration within our Leicester -based team and with external partners.
