Senior Chemical Engineer - Specialty Chemicals

Our client seeks a highly skilled Senior Chemical Engineer specializing in Specialty Chemicals to join their innovative team in Manchester . This role is critical for driving the development, optimization, and scale-up of advanced chemical products that cater to niche markets. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of process development projects for specialty chemical products.
• Optimize existing manufacturing processes to enhance product quality, yield, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct pilot plant trials and oversee the scale-up of laboratory processes to full commercial production.
• Develop and maintain detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, PFDs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Perform rigorous risk assessments and implement safety measures for handling complex chemical materials and reactions.
• Collaborate with supply chain and quality assurance teams to ensure raw material consistency and final product compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering ; a Master's degree is advantageous.
• A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in chemical process engineering, with a focus on specialty chemicals.
• Strong understanding of organic chemistry, reaction kinetics, and separation technologies relevant to specialty chemicals.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools.
• Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO quality standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with strong technical writing skills.
