Senior Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Chemical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Leicester . This role is pivotal in driving the development and optimization of chemical processes for a range of industrial applications. You will work on challenging projects, contributing significantly to process design, scale-up, and implementation, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of new chemical processes and optimize existing ones for improved efficiency and yield.
• Conduct detailed process simulations, hazard analyses (HAZOP) , and risk assessments to ensure operational safety and compliance.
• Manage and execute pilot plant trials and full-scale production runs, troubleshooting any technical issues that arise.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality control, to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and process documentation for management and regulatory bodies.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in chemical process design, development, and optimization.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics , fluid mechanics, reaction kinetics, and separation processes.
• Proven experience in managing projects from conception through to successful implementation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a track record of effective teamwork.
