Senior Chemical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Chemical Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves leading complex process design, optimization, and troubleshooting initiatives within the energy sector. You will be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of chemical processes and systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical reviews, and risk assessments for new projects.
• Optimize existing plant operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, R&D, and safety departments.
• Ensure all projects and operations comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the chemical engineering field, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
• Proven experience in process simulation, design software, and project management methodologies.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and reaction kinetics.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) is highly desirable.
