About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly analytical Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen . This role is pivotal in optimizing and troubleshooting complex chemical processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and scale up chemical processes from laboratory to pilot and full production stages.
- Conduct detailed process simulations and process hazard analyses (PHAs) to identify and mitigate risks.
- Optimize existing plant operations to improve yield, reduce waste, and enhance energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, R&D, and safety departments, to ensure successful project execution.
- Troubleshoot operational issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and proposals for process improvements and new projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in chemical process design, optimization, and plant operations.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools .
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and mass transfer principles.
- Experience with HAZOP studies and safety regulations within the chemical industry.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
