Senior Chemical Process Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their innovative team in London . This pivotal role involves leading the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and sustainability across various projects. You will be instrumental in driving technical solutions from conception through to implementation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of chemical processes , including equipment specification, PFDs, and P&IDs.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling to optimize performance, yield, and energy consumption.
• Oversee process safety management (PSM) activities, including HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues during plant operations and commissioning phases.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams.
• Collaborate with research and development to scale up new technologies and processes from lab to pilot to commercial scale.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record in process design , scale-up, and optimization.
• In-depth knowledge of process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and safety regulations .
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
