About the Role
Our client, a leading innovator in the chemical industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in London . This role is pivotal in driving the design, optimization, and implementation of complex chemical processes that are at the forefront of industry advancements. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of new chemical processes and the optimization of existing ones, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct detailed process simulations, hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), and risk assessments to ensure compliance with stringent safety and environmental regulations.
- Oversee the commissioning and startup phases of new process equipment and plant modifications.
- Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with research and development to scale up laboratory processes to pilot and commercial scale operations.
- Analyze plant performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process design, optimization, and project management within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Proven expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex projects.
- Chartered Engineer status (or eligibility) is highly desirable.
