About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their established team in Bradford . This role is integral to the ongoing optimization and development of complex chemical manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for leading key projects, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on greater responsibility and drive significant improvements within the West Yorkshire industrial landscape, working on advanced chemical production.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of chemical processes to improve yield, reduce waste, and enhance safety.
- Conduct thorough process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, and timelines for process improvement initiatives.
- Provide expert technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshooting complex operational challenges.
- Ensure all processes comply with stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement within the engineering department.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field with a strong academic record.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, preferably within manufacturing or R&D environments.
- Extensive experience with process simulation software, P&ID development, and HAZOP studies.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and managing capital projects.
- Deep understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer principles.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills are essential for this role.
