About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Aberdeen, Scotland . This pivotal role involves leading the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex chemical processes within a leading industrial operation. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of new chemical processes and the modification of existing ones.
- Conduct detailed process simulations, calculations, and hazard analyses (HAZOP) to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Optimize plant operations by identifying and implementing improvements in yield, energy consumption, and waste reduction.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and R&D, to achieve project objectives.
- Ensure all engineering designs and operations comply with relevant industry regulations and environmental standards.
Requirements
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
- Proven track record in process design, simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus), and project management .
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, reaction kinetics, and separation technologies.
- Experience with safety protocols and environmental regulations relevant to chemical operations.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
