About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join their dynamic team in Leicester . This pivotal role involves overseeing and optimizing complex chemical processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with industry standards. You will be instrumental in driving innovation and continuous improvement within the manufacturing operations, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and scale up chemical processes, ensuring optimal performance and yield.
- Conduct rigorous process hazard analyses (PHA) and implement necessary safety protocols.
- Monitor and troubleshoot existing production processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with R&D teams on the transition of new products and technologies from lab scale to full production.
- Generate detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, mass and energy balances, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and process technicians.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in chemical process design, optimization, and scale-up.
- Proven experience with Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) methodologies and safety management systems.
- Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and reaction kinetics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a meticulous attention to detail.
