Senior Cheminformatician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Cheminformatician to join their fully remote research team. This position is critical for enhancing the efficiency and success of their drug discovery programs through advanced data analysis and computational strategy. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cheminformatics tools and databases, as well as analyzing chemical data to guide medicinal chemistry efforts. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cheminformatics databases and software tools for managing, analyzing, and visualizing chemical data.
• Apply computational methods to support drug design, including virtual screening, quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) modeling, and property prediction.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists and biologists to integrate cheminformatics insights into discovery projects.
• Ensure data quality and consistency across all cheminformatics platforms and projects.
• Provide expertise and training on cheminformatics tools and best practices to research teams.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in cheminformatics, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proficiency in cheminformatics toolkits (e.g., RDKit, OpenEye) and programming languages (e.g., Python).
• Strong understanding of chemical structures, properties, and their representation in databases.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for success in a remote , international team environment.
