Senior Childminder Assistant

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Senior Childminder Assistant to support their established childminding service in Leeds . This role is integral to providing high-quality, home-based childcare for children from birth to 5 years. You will work closely with the lead childminder, assisting in creating a safe, fun, and stimulating environment that promotes children's learning and development. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about early years education to gain valuable experience and contribute directly to the well-being and growth of young children in a nurturing, family-like setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead childminder in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities.
• Provide direct care and supervision to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Support children's developmental milestones, including physical, emotional, and social growth.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating home learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with the lead childminder regarding children's progress and any concerns.
• Prepare healthy snacks and meals for the children under supervision.

Requirements

• Childcare qualification, such as NVQ Level 2 or 3, is highly desirable.
• Previous experience working with young children, ideally in a childminding or nursery setting.
• A genuine passion for childcare and early years education.
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team.
