About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly competent Senior Civil Design Engineer with a specialization in geotechnical engineering to join their team in Wolverhampton . This role involves providing expert technical input and leadership on projects requiring detailed ground analysis, foundation design, and slope stability assessments. You will play a critical part in ensuring the stability and safety of structures by understanding and mitigating soil-related risks. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, analytical skill, and the ability to manage complex geotechnical challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the geotechnical investigation and analysis process for various infrastructure projects.
- Design foundations, earthworks, retaining structures, and slope stabilization solutions.
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports, including ground conditions, risk assessments, and design recommendations.
- Oversee and interpret data from site investigations, such as boreholes and CPTs.
- Provide expert advice to design teams and construction personnel on geotechnical matters.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant geotechnical standards and best practices.
Requirements
- A degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in geotechnical design.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio).
- Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation design, and ground improvement techniques.
- Experience with site investigation methods and interpretation of geological data.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
