About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their team with a fully remote work arrangement. This role requires a deep understanding of ground conditions and their implications for civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for leading complex geotechnical investigations, interpreting data, and providing expert design advice from anywhere in the UK. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent analytical skills, capable of managing challenging projects and contributing to the company's reputation for delivering robust and sustainable geotechnical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and interpretation of comprehensive geotechnical site investigations.
- Develop detailed foundation designs, slope stability analyses, and ground improvement strategies.
- Prepare high-quality geotechnical reports, risk assessments, and design documentation for clients and regulators.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior geotechnical engineers.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Stay abreast of advancements in geotechnical engineering and implement best practices.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or a related discipline.
- More than 7 years of experience in a geotechnical engineering capacity.
- Proficiency in geotechnical software such as Plaxis, GeoStudio suite, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, and construction techniques.
- Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage projects effectively in a remote setting.
