Senior Civil Engineer - Geotechnical

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer with a specialization in Geotechnical Engineering to join their team in Bristol . This is a critical role requiring deep expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement techniques. You will lead complex geotechnical investigations and design projects for a wide range of infrastructure and building developments. Working from our Bristol office, you will collaborate with a dedicated team of specialists, providing essential technical input and contributing to the successful and safe delivery of challenging projects. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of geotechnical investigations, including site reconnaissance and borehole logging interpretation.
• Perform advanced geotechnical analyses, including foundation design, slope stability, and seismic assessments.
• Develop detailed geotechnical design reports, specifications, and drawings.
• Provide expert advice on groundworks, retaining structures, and ground improvement strategies.
• Oversee site supervision and quality control for geotechnical aspects of construction projects.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies on geotechnical matters.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized institution.
• Minimum of 10 years' relevant experience in geotechnical engineering consultancy.
• Extensive knowledge of geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio suite).
• Experience with a variety of project types, including major infrastructure and buildings.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
