Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a growing and dynamic engineering consultancy in Manchester.
This role is ideal for a technically capable engineer who enjoys taking ownership of projects, building strong client relationships, and supporting the development of junior team members. You will play a key role in delivering infrastructure and development projects across a variety of sectors, working within a collaborative and forward-thinking team environment.
Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will:
Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects across residential, commercial, mixed-use, and strategic development sectors.
Produce and review highways, drainage, and infrastructure designs.
Manage projects through all stages of the design process.
Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and liaise with clients, local authorities, and external stakeholders.
Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, specifications, and drawings.
Mentor and support Graduate Engineers and Civil Engineers.
Assist with project planning, resource management, and commercial performance.
Contribute to business development activities and strengthen existing client relationships.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience within an engineering consultancy environment.
Strong knowledge of drainage and highway design.
Experience using industry-standard software such as Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and InfoDrainage/MicroDrainage.
A sound understanding of relevant UK design standards and approval processes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience managing projects and coordinating design teams.
Chartered status or progression towards Chartership with ICE is desirable.
