Senior Civil Engineer - Transportation

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in transportation engineering to join their expanding consultancy in Reading . This key role involves leading the design and implementation of critical transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, road networks, and public transport systems. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and development of highway and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Conduct traffic analysis, demand forecasting, and network modeling.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for road schemes, junctions, and public transport facilities.
• Oversee the construction and implementation phases, ensuring quality and adherence to project plans.
• Engage with highway authorities, planning bodies, and other stakeholders to secure approvals and manage relationships.
• Ensure all designs meet current UK highway design standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in transportation infrastructure.
• Proficiency in transportation design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MX, AutoTrack).
• In-depth knowledge of DMRB, MCHW, and other relevant UK highway standards.
• Strong project management skills and experience leading project teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement.
