Senior Civil Engineer - Urban Development Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead the design and delivery of ambitious urban development projects in Nottingham . This role is integral to shaping the future of the urban landscape, involving the creation of sustainable and functional infrastructure that supports new housing, commercial, and recreational spaces. You will be responsible for managing project aspects from inception through to completion, collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the detailed design of infrastructure for urban development sites, including roads, sewers, and surface water management.
• Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and specifications in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, local planning authorities, statutory undertakers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conduct site feasibility studies and assess ground conditions to inform design strategies.
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering technical development and high-quality output.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the design and delivery of urban development projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure design for residential and commercial developments.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and drainage design software.
• Strong understanding of planning policy, highway adoption processes, and regulatory requirements.
