About the Role
Our client, a key player in the utilities sector, is seeking a proactive Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire . This role is integral to the design, planning, and project management of essential utility infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, and energy networks. You will ensure the seamless delivery of projects that are vital to the community, working closely with site teams and external stakeholders. This position requires a hands-on approach and a commitment to excellence in delivering critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of civil engineering aspects for utility projects.
- Oversee the planning and execution of works related to water, sewer, gas, and electricity networks.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, health and safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess project requirements and potential challenges.
- Liaise with utility companies, local authorities, and contractors to coordinate project activities.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Significant experience (7+ years) in civil engineering, with a focus on utilities or infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software and a good understanding of relevant utility design principles.
- Experience in project management and contract administration.
- Knowledge of UK utility regulations and industry best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
