About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in Water & Drainage to join their Nottingham office. This role is instrumental in designing and managing a variety of water-related infrastructure projects, including surface water management, foul drainage, and sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS). You will be responsible for technical leadership, project delivery, and client liaison, ensuring that solutions are innovative, sustainable, and compliant with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), sewer networks, and surface water management strategies.
- Perform hydraulic modeling and analysis for drainage systems and flood risk assessments.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, specifications, and contract documentation.
- Oversee site investigations and provide construction support for water and drainage projects.
- Collaborate with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering technical expertise within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master's preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in water and drainage engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
- Proven experience in designing foul and surface water drainage, attenuation features, and SuDS.
- Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software such as MicroDrainage, HEC-RAS, or similar.
- Strong understanding of UK water legislation and environmental standards relevant to the Midlands.
