Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources Management

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in Water Resources Management to join their team in Bristol . This role is pivotal in addressing the challenges of water supply, flood risk, and environmental protection. You will lead projects focused on sustainable water management strategies, including the design of hydraulic structures, flood defenses, and drainage systems. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of water resource projects, such as reservoirs, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
• Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess flood risk and develop mitigation strategies.
• Design and manage the construction of flood defense structures and drainage systems.
• Develop sustainable water management plans and strategies, considering environmental impacts.
• Oversee site investigations, data collection, and condition assessments of existing water infrastructure.
• Manage project teams, budgets, and client relationships for water-related projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Hydrology.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer status with at least 7 years of experience.
• Extensive knowledge of hydrology, hydraulics, and flood modeling software .
• Proven experience in designing and managing water infrastructure projects, including flood defenses.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainable water management practices.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and stakeholder communication skills.
