Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

About the Role

Our client, a leading environmental and engineering consultancy in Oxford , is seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in Water Resources . This role is vital for managing and delivering complex water-related projects, including flood risk management, drainage systems, and sustainable water strategies. You will be responsible for technical leadership, project management, and client engagement, contributing to innovative solutions for water challenges in the Oxfordshire region and beyond. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of water resource management projects, including flood defense, drainage, and river engineering.
• Conduct hydraulic modelling and analysis to assess flood risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, environmental statements, and design documentation.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies (e.g., Environment Agency), and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of the water engineering team.

Requirements

• A Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or a related environmental discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years' experience in water resources engineering.
• Strong proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks) and GIS.
• In-depth knowledge of flood risk assessment, drainage design, and water management techniques.
• Excellent report writing, communication, and project management skills.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it is desirable.
