Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in water resources management to join their respected team in Oxford . This role is crucial for developing innovative solutions for water supply, wastewater treatment, and environmental protection projects across the region. You will lead design teams, manage complex projects, and provide expert technical advice to clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrology, hydraulics, and sustainable water management practices, coupled with excellent leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of water resources projects, including water supply networks, wastewater systems, and flood defense measures.
• Conduct detailed hydrological and hydraulic analyses, environmental impact assessments, and feasibility studies.
• Develop technical specifications, drawings, and project documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
• Manage project teams, ensuring efficient resource allocation, budget control, and adherence to timelines.
• Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure project success and obtain necessary approvals.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff on water-related issues.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in water resources engineering, including design and project management.
• Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (e.g., InfoWorks, EPANET, HEC-RAS) and CAD packages.
• In-depth knowledge of UK water regulations, environmental policies, and sustainable water management practices.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it is highly desirable.
