Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in Water Resources to join their dedicated team in Cambridge . This role is central to managing and designing solutions for water-related infrastructure, including flood defense, drainage systems, and water supply projects. You will lead technical investigations, develop innovative designs, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and implementation of water resource projects, including flood risk assessment, drainage, and water supply systems.
• Develop technical solutions for complex water management challenges, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals .
• Prepare detailed design drawings, calculations, and reports using relevant hydraulic and hydrological software.
• Manage project scope, budget, and timelines, ensuring efficient and effective project delivery.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to achieve project objectives.
• Conduct site assessments and provide technical support during the construction phase.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in water resources engineering.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks) and GIS tools.
• Strong knowledge of flood risk management, sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) , and water quality principles.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it is beneficial.
