Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Civil Engineer with expertise in Water Resources to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This vital role will involve leading the planning, design, and implementation of sustainable water management solutions, including flood defense, wastewater systems, and water supply infrastructure. You will provide strategic direction, technical leadership, and ensure the successful delivery of critical projects that address evolving environmental challenges. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of integrated water resource management strategies and infrastructure projects.
• Conduct comprehensive hydrological and hydraulic modelling for flood risk assessment, drainage design, and water supply systems.
• Prepare detailed technical designs, specifications, and project documentation using advanced modelling software.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, water quality standards, and sustainable engineering practices.
• Manage project teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure effective project execution and delivery.
• Provide expert technical advice on water-related challenges and innovative solutions to clients and internal teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or equivalent professional qualification.
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in water resources engineering, flood risk management, and infrastructure design.
• Expert proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM) and GIS applications.
• Strong understanding of UK water legislation, environmental impact assessment, and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
• Exceptional leadership, analytical, and communication skills for a remote working environment.
