Senior Civil Engineer - Water Resources

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Civil Engineer with extensive experience in water resources management to join their fully remote, highly skilled team. This senior position involves leading the strategic planning, design, and implementation of complex water-related infrastructure projects, including flood defence, water supply, and wastewater systems. You will be responsible for technical leadership, project delivery, and client liaison, ensuring projects meet environmental, regulatory, and client objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and delivery of major water resources projects, including river engineering, drainage, and hydraulic modelling.
• Develop comprehensive project proposals, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments related to water infrastructure.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to a team of civil and environmental engineers.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure successful project completion.
• Liaise closely with clients, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met and foster strong relationships.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in water resources engineering, innovative technologies, and regulatory changes.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a specialization in Water Resources.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in the water sector, with a proven track record in managing large-scale projects.
• Expertise in hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks) and GIS applications.
• Deep understanding of UK water legislation, environmental regulations, and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized professional body.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and client management skills, capable of thriving in a remote setting.
