Senior Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join their established team in Aberdeen, Scotland . This pivotal role involves leading and managing significant infrastructure projects from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to technical specifications, budgetary constraints, and project timelines. You will be instrumental in mentoring junior engineers, fostering a collaborative team environment, and contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence in civil engineering design and project delivery. The successful candidate will play a key part in developing innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges faced by our clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning, and execution of diverse civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, transportation, and land development.
• Conduct detailed site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for proposed projects.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports using industry-standard software.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, ensuring profitable project completion.
• Supervise and mentor a team of civil engineers and technicians, providing guidance and technical support.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven track record of at least 8 years' experience in civil engineering project management and design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
• Strong understanding of UK building regulations, planning policies, and environmental legislation.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
