Senior Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team based in Leicester . This role is crucial for overseeing and contributing to a variety of complex civil engineering projects, from initial design through to final construction and handover. You will play a key part in ensuring that projects meet all technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements, contributing significantly to the infrastructure development within the region. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical acumen, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful project delivery in a challenging environment, working within a firm that values innovation and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, planning, and execution of civil engineering projects, including infrastructure, transportation, and land development.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to inform project strategies.
• Prepare technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents for various projects.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful and profitable project completion.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent chartered status is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management .
• Proficiency in relevant design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or other industry-standard tools.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and contract administration.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
