About the Role

Our client, a leading insurance provider, is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Adjuster to join their dynamic team in Leicester . This pivotal role involves managing complex insurance claims from initial reporting through to settlement, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. You will act as a subject matter expert, guiding less experienced team members and contributing to the continuous improvement of claims handling processes within a supportive and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate settlement of complex insurance claims, including property, casualty, and liability cases.
• Conduct thorough reviews of policy coverage, incident reports, and supporting documentation to determine claim validity.
• Communicate effectively with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and legal counsel throughout the claims process.
• Appoint and manage external resources such as loss adjusters, investigators, and legal experts when necessary.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all claim activities, decisions, and settlements in the claims management system.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior claims adjusters, fostering a culture of excellence and professional development.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in claims adjusting, with a proven track record of managing complex claims.
• In-depth knowledge of insurance policies, claims investigation techniques, and relevant legal/regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally.
• Proficiency in using claims management software and standard office applications.
• Relevant professional qualifications or certifications in insurance or claims management are highly desirable.
