About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly experienced Senior Claims Handler specializing in Liability claims to join their remote-first team, based out of Glasgow . This pivotal role involves managing complex liability claims from inception to settlement, requiring expert investigation, negotiation, and decision-making skills. You will be responsible for ensuring fair and efficient resolution of claims, upholding the highest standards of customer service and compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of complex and high-value liability claims , ensuring timely and accurate progression.
- Conduct thorough investigations, gather evidence, and obtain expert opinions as necessary.
- Assess liability and quantum, negotiating settlements with claimants, solicitors, and other parties.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, company policies, and best practices in claims handling.
- Mentor junior members of the claims team and provide technical guidance and support.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (5+ years) in handling a variety of liability insurance claims .
- Deep understanding of relevant legislation, case law, and insurance principles .
- Proven negotiation and settlement skills, with a strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage workload effectively in a remote environment .
