About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Senior Claims Handler to join their established insurance team in Leicester . This pivotal role involves managing a complex caseload of insurance claims from initial notification through to settlement, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards and company policies. You will be instrumental in providing exceptional customer service to policyholders, brokers, and third parties, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at every stage. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of diverse insurance claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing and settlement.
- Conduct thorough investigations into claim validity, gathering all necessary documentation and evidence.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with policyholders, brokers, and other stakeholders throughout the claims lifecycle.
- Negotiate settlements within authorised limits, adhering strictly to company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential fraudulent claims and escalate them for further investigation as per protocol.
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced claims handlers, fostering a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Claims Handler within the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of claims procedures and policy wordings.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using claims management software and standard office applications.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a demanding workload effectively.
- Relevant insurance qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) are advantageous.
