About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Commercial Solicitor to join their esteemed legal team based in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves managing a diverse caseload of complex commercial transactions and providing strategic legal advice to a broad spectrum of clients, ranging from local businesses to international corporations. You will play a key part in the development and growth of the firm's commercial practice, mentoring junior associates and contributing to the firm's reputation for excellence in commercial law . This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile matters within a supportive and collaborative environment in the heart of Scotland's business community.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited to, supply agreements, service level agreements, partnership deeds, and intellectual property licenses.
- Advise clients on corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters pertinent to their business operations.
- Conduct thorough legal research and provide clear, concise, and actionable legal opinions on complex commercial issues.
- Manage and develop client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and identifying opportunities for cross-selling services.
- Supervise and mentor junior solicitors and paralegals, fostering their professional development.
- Represent the firm and its clients in negotiations and, where necessary, in dispute resolution proceedings.
Requirements
- A qualified solicitor with a current practicing certificate for Scotland.
- A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in commercial law , with a strong track record in contract drafting and negotiation.
- Demonstrated experience in advising on corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial dispute resolution.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to manage a demanding workload, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
