About the Role
Our client is looking for an exceptional Senior Computational Biologist to join their pioneering team focused on Artificial Intelligence in Drug Discovery . This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. You will leverage advanced computational techniques, including machine learning and data mining, to analyze vast biological datasets and identify novel drug targets and predictive biomarkers. This role is critical in driving innovation and accelerating the drug development process through sophisticated data analysis and computational modeling, contributing significantly to the company's cutting-edge research efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and apply machine learning algorithms and statistical models to large-scale biological datasets (genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics).
- Design and implement computational pipelines for target identification and validation.
- Collaborate with medicinal chemists and biologists to integrate computational findings into drug discovery programs.
- Visualize and interpret complex biological data, communicating insights clearly to diverse audiences.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of AI and machine learning applications within drug discovery.
Requirements
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Significant experience (5+ years) in computational biology, with a strong focus on machine learning and AI in a drug discovery context.
- Proficiency in Python or R, and experience with ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies.
- Strong understanding of biological principles and disease mechanisms.
