Senior Computational Biologist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Senior Computational Biologist to join their pioneering research team, operating on a fully remote basis. This pivotal role involves leveraging cutting-edge computational approaches to analyze complex biological data, driving discovery in areas such as genomics, proteomics, and systems biology. You will work closely with experimental biologists and data scientists to develop and apply novel analytical methods, contributing to the interpretation of research findings and the design of future experiments. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement computational strategies for analyzing large-scale biological datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
• Design and conduct bioinformatic analyses to identify biomarkers, pathways, and therapeutic targets.
• Collaborate with experimental teams to interpret complex biological data and guide research directions.
• Develop and maintain software tools and pipelines for data analysis and visualization.
• Stay current with the latest advancements in computational biology and bioinformatics, and apply them to research problems.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in applying computational methods to biological research questions.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with relevant bioinformatics libraries.
• Strong understanding of statistical genetics , machine learning, and pathway analysis.
• Experience working with large biological databases and high-performance computing environments, preferably in a remote setting .
