About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Computational Biologist to join their dynamic research team, operating fully remotely. This role is central to uncovering biological insights from large-scale genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets, driving forward the understanding of disease mechanisms and identifying novel therapeutic targets. You will collaborate closely with experimental biologists and bioinformaticians, contributing significantly to the strategic direction of our client's research programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled computational biologist who thrives in a remote setting and is passionate about applying cutting-edge analytical methods to biological problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and interpret complex multi-omics datasets (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics) using advanced computational methods.
- Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines for data processing, quality control, and statistical analysis.
- Collaborate with experimental teams to design studies, interpret results, and generate hypotheses for further investigation.
- Build predictive models to identify biomarkers, drug targets, and patient stratification strategies.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal databases and knowledge management systems.
- Present research findings and technical methodologies to diverse audiences, both internal and external.
Requirements
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genomics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant research experience, with a strong track record in analyzing high-throughput biological data.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or R, and experience with bioinformatics tools and databases.
- Solid understanding of statistical principles and machine learning techniques relevant to biological data analysis.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment .
