About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Computational Biologist to join their world-class research institution in Oxford . This on-site position is central to unraveling complex biological questions through advanced data analysis and computational modeling. You will work on diverse projects, collaborating with leading researchers to interpret large-scale biological datasets and drive scientific discovery. This role is ideal for a quantitative scientist passionate about making significant contributions to biological research in a highly collaborative academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement computational methods for the analysis of high-throughput biological data (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics).
- Design and build robust bioinformatics pipelines for data processing, integration, and interpretation.
- Collaborate with experimental biologists to define research questions, design studies, and interpret results.
- Visualize and communicate complex data findings effectively to diverse scientific audiences.
- Contribute to the development of novel computational tools and approaches for biological research.
Requirements
- PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in computational biology research.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or R .
- Experience with common bioinformatics tools, databases, and algorithms.
- Solid understanding of statistical principles and experience with data visualization techniques.
