Senior Computational Scientist - Cheminformatics

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain cheminformatics tools and databases for managing chemical data.
• Apply quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) and other modeling techniques to predict compound properties and activities.
• Design and execute virtual screening strategies to identify potential drug leads.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists to support lead optimization efforts and analyze structure-activity relationships.
• Visualize and analyze large chemical datasets to extract meaningful insights.
• Contribute to the development of new computational methodologies and workflows.

Requirements

• PhD or MSc in Cheminformatics, Computational Chemistry, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cheminformatics within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with cheminformatics toolkits (e.g., RDKit, Open Babel).
• Proficiency in applying QSAR, machine learning, and data mining techniques to chemical data.
• Experience with chemical databases and information retrieval systems.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong ability to work within a team.
